WHEN DOES IT START?
IT STARTS ACCEPTING ENTRIES FROM 18TH OF JANUARY, 2014 AND THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION IS ON 25TH OF JANUARY, 2014

THE CONCEPT?

Following the goal of the Erised Junction, we decided to begin with something that could bring out the most comfortable and naked self of people to think about something that is too crude to be visible to all eyes, and yet not comprehensible. We decided to conduct a Writing Contest on the topic - The Mirror of Erised.

Since writing, we believe, is one of the most divine acts performed by a human being, we thought about bringing a mirror to them. A mirror, that would show us NOT our true images or the images of what we want, it would show us the deepest, most desperate desires of our hearts.

Like Harry in Harry Potter and Sorcerer's stone stands in front of the Mirror of Erised, to find his mother and father, who were already dead, standing beside him, waving to him. Harry, who had never known his mother or father, had always wanted to see this sight. He was entranced by the magnificence of the sight; and he sat there, looking at it; kept coming back to it from time to time; and sit there again for hours admiring in its tempt, the wonder of it.

WHAT DO YOU WANT US TO WRITE ABOUT?

It would be very hard to dictate our terms of writing, specifying the particulars of the content we want because that would kill the independence of the writer. BUT WE DON'T WANT YOU TO TELL US WHAT YOU DESIRE THE MOST IN YOUR HEARTS, NO! But we want you to write ABOUT THE MIRROR! What is this Mirror of Erised? What does it do? Answer all the sorts of questions that arise out of it!

We simply want you to THINK and WRITE! That is why, there is NO WORD LIMIT! AND NO SPELL CHECKS!

We want to know that you think! There is NO ONE WAY answer to any of it simply because we are not asking any questions! So merely think and write and send it to us!

WHO CAN WRITE OR PARTICIPATE IN THIS CONTEST?

We decided to keep the AGE LIMIT FOR the CONTEST SET AT 17 to 25 years of age! However, ANY OTHER PERSON interested in sending their works for our readings can do so at his own discretion, we would definitely read it and we would be highly obliged!

WHAT ARE THE PRIZES?

The winner of the contest would be awarded with a sum of ₹1100 along with 2 books to read; the second place winner will receive ₹500 along with books to read.

Participants would also receive certificates along with membership opportunities into the group. 

Besides, the best entries, irrespective of the positions gained by the participants, would also have their works published on Social Media, wherever Erised Junction is available.
